Join us for Rooted in Community

Sunday, May 7th from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Site, 4600 Virginia Rd., Long Beach

With a grant from the City of Long Beach under the Long Beach Recovery Act, and Health Equity Community Programs, New Hope Grief Support Community will be hosting Rooted In Community, an event on Sunday, May 7, 2023, from 1:30 p.m.- 3:30 p.m. The free community event will take place at Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Site, located at 4600 Virginia Rd., Long Beach, CA 90807.  Los Cerritos Ranch House, also known as Rancho Los Cerritos or Casa de Los Cerritos was the largest and most impressive adobe residence erected in southern California during the Mexican period. Rancho Los Cerritos is located on the ancestral and current homelands of the Tongva/Gabrielino people who are the past, present, and future caretakers of the Los Angeles Basin and Southern Channel Islands.

In partnership with Rancho Los Cerritos,  join us for an experiential journey as we explore the Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Site through a scavenger hunt, games, snacks, and connecting with nature. This community healing-centered event is designed for individuals and families who have experienced the death of a loved one, and each family member is encouraged to attend. One of the most lonely places in the world is to be surrounded by life and yet feel completely disconnected from all of it. This is often the experience of grief. A walk in nature allows us to find our place in it. The benefits of being in nature, connecting with others in a supportive environment, and paying tribute and honor to loved ones who have died are great ways for managing grief and loss.

This event is free to attend and is designed for individuals and families who have experienced the death of a loved one or someone special.  Space is limited and RSVP is required, please register using the form below.  If you have questions please call (562) 429-0075 extension 2 or email New Hope at support@newhopegrief.org. We Hope to see you at the Rancho!
